Online Lake and Reservoir Information System (OLARIS)

OLARIS is a web-based interface that provides visualization of real-time data, numerical simulation results, and sustainability indices for the lakes, estuaries and coastal waters that make up the current and proposed projects at the Centre for Water Research. OLARIS provides a powerful interactive zooming interface capable of visualizing data at resolutions down to the sampling frequency, to see events such as high frequency internal waves, and out to one year, to see seasonal changes. The suite of sites available for viewing enables valuable comparisons between the behaviour of a range of lakes, estuaries and coastal waters around the world.

OLARIS is part of a Real Time Management (RTM) system designed to focus our knowledge of these aquatic systems and provide up-to-date information to assist with management decision-making.
